Scarabaeus+ CAP (Computer-Aided Execution in Production)
Scarabaeus+ CAP was specially developed to be used directly in production. This extension will enable you to execute the manufacturing instructions generated in the Scarabaeus+ Basic System in a computer-guided manner. The flexible design of these manufacturing instructions allows the mapping of any production step. A particularly typical deployment for this program is the computer-guided weighing and dispensing of raw materials. In the process, the software will handle the entire control and data polling for the weighing apparatus connected to it, as well as the activity- and balancing calculations. Another advantage compared to manufacturing instructions in hard copy lies in the cogent user guidance and process supervision, combined with an automatic capturing of all actions. Illustration
Software Driver for Weighing Machine Communication Protocols
Full use of the options Scarabaeus+ provides for computer-guided weighing requires, aside from the expansion program Scarabaeus+ CAP, that one or several weighing machines be technically connected. Customarily, this link is established via the serial ports of the computer. However, data protocols for the communication with the weighing machines vary completely from one make to the next. GTI therefore offers a choice of software drivers for the weighing machine communication protocols of standard makes, specifically for:

- Mettler-Toledo Spider
- Mettler-Toledo PG
- Bizerba ITE
- Ohaus Voyager
- Sartorius CP/GC/GP

Other protocols are easily implemented thanks to the software architecture of Scarabaeus+, which is set-up to meet such requirements.
Scarabaeus+ RF - Mobile Warehouse Booking with Barcode Recording
This option allows you to raise the efficiency and productivity
of warehouse storage significantly. Use of mobile barcode terminals enables
warehouse staff to effect storage site re-bookings independent of location,
to dispatch pick-ups for production or shipping (picking), or to take
inventories. The concept of this software expansion presupposes the homogenous
bar code labelling of goods and storage sites. The required hardware in
the form of mobile terminals with corresponding wireless LAN connection
to the Scarabaeus+ database must be available or acquired, respectively.
The minimum requirements for the hardware are the following:
- Alphanumerical keyboard.
- A display of at least 16 lines with 24 digits each.
- Wireless LAN network connection via appropriate technology (e.g. 2.4 GHz data radio relay).
- Telnet client software.
- VT220 emulation.

This expansion of the Scarabaeus+
system is intended to support detailed production- and resource planning.
It enables Scarabaeus+ to transmit planning-relevant data from
production orders and the managed resources to Microsoft Project.

This program makes it very easy for planners to use graphic planning
tables to effect a fine-tuning of the production orders. Moreover, MS
Project
not only allows for simulations of planned scenarios ("what-if"
deliberations) but also transcends by far the possibilities of the Scarabaeus+
Basic System with its functionalities (e.g. shift calendars and differentiated

Deployment of this option requires that at least full licensing for Microsoft
Project exist or be acquired.
EDIFACT Phoenix is a centrally standardized procedure for exchanging electronic documents in the pharmaceutical wholesale sector. The EDIFACT / Phoenix interface permits the reading-in and processing of EDIFACT Phoenix files that contain whole sale orders for manufacturers of pharmaceuticals. Accordingly, it is primarily intended for Scarabaeus+ customers who themselves serve pharmaceutical wholesalers. The read-in data is checked for plausibility and automatically converted into internal Scarabaeus+ orders. Identification of the ordered articles is effected via the central pharma number. The module allows moreover for processing of the orders into picking requests, effecting an automatic batch-assignment according to the FIFO/FEFO principle. Illustration
Financial Accounting Interface
Scarabaeus+ contains no integrated financial accounting function. However, this expansion can be used to establish a link to a given external financial accounting program. The interface allows to match the booking-relevant master data (e.g. accounting plan, customer data, supplier data) and transaction data (e.g. sales invoices, purchase invoices, payments received) between the two systems. Various links (e.g. to FibuNet, SAP R/3 FI/CO or DATEV) have already been realized using this interface. But the concept of open interfaces principally permits any kind of exchange of financial data according to customer specifications. Illustration
Scarabaeus+ MIS
A comprehensive management information system, based on the data warehouse products sold by Cognos, the global market leader. On the basis of master- and process data from Scarabaeus+, this extension uses predefined calls, aggregations and evaluations to provide key figures for the areas of financial controlling, quality controlling and production controlling.
